This is the debut demo from Philadelphia's Torn Paper Dolls. The band is working on a studio EP that will be released this summer and if this demo is a taste of what's to come then I anxiously await the summer! Nicki Jaine's voice is deep and dark and hauntingly wonderful while Sky sets the backdrop that serves to enhance the songs in ways that few have thought to do before them. The three songs contained here (Antarctica, Fireflies & Razorblades, and She is the Madman) are dark, eerie, and all consuming. This demo brings to mind the darkest moments of Eva O, the darkest moments of Christian Death/Rozz Williams, and certainly Collide and Otto's Daughter (who are actually mentioned as an inspiration in the bands bio.) Torn Paper Dolls are set to join a handful of Goth artists that many would consider to be some of the most creative artists that music has ever known. It won't be long until Torn Paper Dolls are at the top of the food chain.
