Nicki Jaine's unique creativity certainly shines on her first solo album, "Of Pigeons And Other Curiosities" (Shaman Records). This dark and delicious musical treasure is full of surprises around every turn. Her rich, unique alto voice just has to be heard to be believed - it's phenomenal! Like a modern-day bard, she spins lyrical tales, such as the icy, angry "Antarctica", or of modern day exorcisms in "Animals Crawling", of "Octopi" with an intelligence beyond human’s understanding; and who can't love a song like "A Pigeon Named Crow". Some of the subject matter she explores is painted even a darker shade of black with the stark accompaniment of a lone guitar or piano.
Nicki has recently been asked to join the touring band for Black Tape for a Blue Girl, where she will be handling guitar, keyboard, and backing vox. She will also be doing an opening solo set on selected dates on the tour.
